Fire-Aid International was asked to help with a project to supply secondhand fire appliances to the civilian fire service in Romania and subsequently a pair of former West Midlands Fire Service Dennis RS133 pump ladders were donated. Members of the BAA Fire Service did most of the arrangements and obtained sponsorship for the project which also included supplying a number of ambulances plus medical equipment sourced by members of the London Ambulance Service. The convoy arrived in Hateg, in the centre of Romania, in mid 1996.
1980 Dennis RS133 / Dennis pump ladder HOP 545W which served with the West Midlands Fire Service at Ladywood and then Billesley and is now on the run at Petrilla in Romania having been donated by Fire-Aid International.
