FIRE-AID INTERNATIONAL

THE MONTSERRAT FIRE DEPARTMENT
Using UK government funding, two fully equipped Dodge pumping appliances were supplied to the Montserrat Fire Department in the Caribbean. They were stationed in the island’s capital, Plymouth, but when the town had to be abandoned because of the devastating volcano, both appliances were moved to the north of the island. The two vehicles came from the West Yorkshire Fire Service with Fire-Aid International co-ordinating the aid programme in 1993.
